Hawkeye sat at the edge of camp, watching the kits play a smile across his face. He could remeber his days as a kit. He didnt like them to much no freedom, no say in life, but now he was a worrier, free, happy and at peace with the world around him. As a kit he had never thought about the world the only thing he knew where the his kin and the kits there, his mother , and the other queens. Now he knew so much more, he now saw what life was. He never missed his days of being a kit, he would the appentices and even the worriers talk about how they missed being a kit, Hawkeye never missed being a kit, not once.

Bright with the day of promise looming overhead, Laurelpaw was filled with warmth as she basked in the sun. Cats seemed drawn to each other on such sweltering days as these, as if by some kind of magnetic force. Toes curling against the ground, she hoped--in vain--that no one would send her off to any apprentice duties. Shakily rising to her paws, she padded off toward the distant stream to take a sip; its coolness refreshed her, and she purred contentedly. Happiness was the heat.
Turning back toward her spot, she noticed Hawkeye perched a bit away. Tail lashing in anticipation, she bounded toward him, golden eyes glowing like two precious orbs. "Nice to see you," she cordially greeted, blinking as she heard the buzzing of insects around her. There wasn't much to keep them away, especially under such circumstances. Internally shaking her head, she thanked StarClan for their existence all the same.

The dazzling she stepped into the sun, blinking her eyes at the blinding sudden bright-ness of the sun. She hadn't noticed it from inside her den, but now it struck her strongly that the day was far into action without her. Paintedflower looked about her, sniffing the warm sun-dried air. It was surely a pleasent day, she always thought the heat was nice, and it annoyed her slightly when others complained about the heat. When she noticed two other cats in the clearing conversing, she padded over, a sway in her motion.
"Whatcha up to?" she asked Laulepaw, who seemed to be enjoying her day as well. Then she noticed Hawkeye. She nodded to him with respect pouring from her eyes. How greatful she was to the other warriors for serving their clan. "Good morning sir."

Hawkeye watched as the apperice came pounding over "Good day Laurelpaw" he said almost sounding as if he had been awakened from an afternoon doze in the sun. Hawkeye smiled at the small she-cat, she still looked so much like a kit to him but all the appericeds looked like kits to him just a little bigger and stronger. The older one so clost to becoming worriers like himself where not so much kit any more, unlike the small cat that sat before him now. He loved the younger cats how happy they where all the time, how pleased they where to the littlest think around the camp, but he did not long for those days unlike the other worriers he knew.
Hawkeye nodded his head toward Paintedflower "Good day" he said warmth in his voice. He never had truely gotten over his kitthood crush on Paintedflower she was a lovely cat, smart and kind. He stared at her, his dark eyes filled with her reflection. He quickly turned his gaze elsewhere, shyly.

She smiled at him, the same warmth in his smile reflected in her own face. She could feel his atraction, she could feel all toms' atraction towards her. But she didn't let it stop her from being freinds with almost every single one of them. Even the ones who had mates. Her orange blotched coat twitched as a bug landed on it. His gaze shifted. Awe, come on! Not this again... dang it, not even three words outa this one today...
"So how's the hunting going?" She asked him casually.

He looked back at her this time at her paws " I havn't been out today would you like to go with me, we could both see how it going". The day was nice and he knew that the hunting would be fair enough but it never hurt to ask. Plus they hadnt been on a hunt together since they both had become worriors, he missed hunting with her, he missed watching her hunt the most.

A flashy smile spread across her face, lighting up her eyes. It was her thing, hunting, hearing the blood pound through a mouse, or jumping through air, to pin down a squirming, squaking black feathered bird. "Sure!" she said airly, waving her tail contentidly behind her. The sway in her step as she moved towards the entrace. "Come on!"

Observing the conversation with keen interest, Laurelpaw shifted her weight back and forth between her paws. Strolling slightly closer to the two cats, she watched as they proceeded to exit the camp. That was just like older cats; starting up a common conversation filled to the brim with necessary pleasantries, only to leave half-way through before the nearby witnesses could catch a glimpse of anything interesting. Shrugging more to herself than to anyone else, she leaned forward into a stretch, mouth wide as she yawned in repose.
Always late to rise, Hollyclaw poked her head out from the warriors den, taking her sweet time in padding over to Laurelpaw. Once she had completed the long and perilous trek--how Hollyclaw clambered for dramatics--she collapsed at her friend's feet, causing Laurelpaw to roll her eyes and just about split her side in laughter. "Ever the dramatic one, eh?" she teased, sticking her tongue out.
Now yawning herself, Hollyclaw favored Laurelpaw with a rare up-turning at the corners of her mouth--a sign that the apprentice had done something to genuinely amuse her for once. "You apprentices, you think you know everything." Rolling her shoulder-blades, she twitched and grimaced as she realigned a faulty joint. "Surprisingly, though, it works for you."
"Glad to hear it."
Purring, Hollyclaw padded closer and playfully swatted at the she-cat. "You're so cute sometimes. I remember when I was your age, you know..." Here she goes, Laurelpaw bitterly thought. If she wasn't going on about how superior she was to everyone around her, she was reminiscing over her lost kit and apprenticehood. As to why, Laurelpaw had no idea; it didn't seem like such an eventful part of life.
