“mmm,” replied Kay tipping her head towards the side blinking slowly. “If someone had to psycho-analyze me, they would blame it all on my mother eating cat nip.” Chuckling, she glanced at her steelblue stripes before going cross eye for a moment looking at the white specks that were placed across her muzzle like freckles on a twoleg’s face. “Though really it’s because of the lab. So I completely understand for being edgy around others when they assume your past is one thing when truly is…oh I’m talking nonsense now.” Giving an easy laugh, embarrassment flashed across her pelt as both ears flatten against her skull. “Sorry.”

Spitting out a bit of stray leaf that had somehow found its way into his maw while he was ranting, Ray threw Kay a quizzical look. "You don't have to be sorry unless you say something that offends someone. Nonsense doesn't offend me." Winking, he undug his claws from the ground.

Kay looked up at at Ray with suprised look as she ed her head towards the side, both steelblue eyes starring up at him. "You aren't upset?" she asked in a soft tone. The tip of her tail flickered about trying to process this. It was so strange cause when she just chattered on, Mai would get abusive towards her. Yes, the father of her kits was not a kind warm hearted tom cat as everyone in the twoleg village assumed he was. If only he was that, then maybe Kay would not be so....strange.

Confusion clouded his usually untroubled face. Her bewilderment baffled him. "Why would I be?" Then it dawned on him; perhaps this was how her mate acted towards her. A cruel and indifferent soul who cared for her in an entirely different way than what was deemed to be normal.
"Can I ask you a question, besides this one, I mean?" Saucer-round, dilated cocoa-hued eyes bore through her. Silently awaiting her approval, he shifted his weight onto the right haunch.

Confusion swam within her steelblue eyes as she stared up at the cocoa-hued gazing down at her. They seem to look right through here which caused chills to run down her spine. Lashing out her tail, she thught of the matter and thought it best not to ingore it. Shifting slightly, the queen began to look around as if someone where spying on the group around them. After a moment, her gaze snapped back to ray. "Sure," she replied nodding her head slowly. "Though...may I ask what....what type of question?"

Paws shuffling, he looked her dead-on, though a feeling of dread told him not to. There were always consequences for your actions. "It involves love." He paused and began to pace around the yard until his nerves settled. "Do you love Mai?"

Kay twitched as Ray asked his question. Both eyes clouding with shame that he had put there. Fear stabbed at her stomach as her mouth became dry. Why did this happen when ever she thought about Mai? Everything was fine until she started to create male friends, then a new side to the tom she loved came out. Though the kittypet had never notice how slowly the tom was working his way to ruin her inside and out. Love wasn't something that should make you curl in fear or make you wince. The words from your lover's mouth should be smooth not froced as if it were all a lie. Also, never wishing that he or she would just show up one day cause of some horrible event harming them, maybe even killing them so your sorrow would stop. Both eyes widen. "No."

"I see," he wanted to say, but of course he didn't, and of course he didn't. After a moment of consideration, he tried to delicately phrase his next question. He could only try to be gentle. "Then why are you with him?" Ray inquired, eyes softening.

Kay shifted her weight from side to side as both eyes darted about the yard searching for the black tom to just jump out of no where. Chills ran down her spine as she looked back at Ray. "We have the same twolegs," she said, "I would love to leave Mai, but I could never leave my twolegs they saved me from that horrible lab."

Ray felt his body easing into a stretch. Feeling a bit self-conscious, he quickly forced himself to sit flat again. "I see. That would be difficult. Is there any way you can avoid him?" Gently running a paw over his right ear, he felt the sun's rays pouring over the two cats in the confined yard. It would have been sheer bliss if it hadn't been for the tension in the air.

Kay shook her head as she looked down at her paws with an emotionless stare. "No, unless I runaway or he just dissappears," she replied. The last word, dissappeared, was a snarl full of rage as it rolled off of her tongue. Her fine smooth pelt seemt to puff out slightly from the word as well as if an idea was coming to mind.

Vengeful, he thought. "How do you think you could get him to disappear?" he asked, tone light and innocent. He already had an idea of what was to happen to the abusive tom. Mai had never seemed particularly caring or perceptive. Maybe it would be the cause of his downfall.

Kay shrugged as both strangely color eyes stared at the ground below paw. Both had a distance gaze about them as only one who was elderly should ever have. It was strange to think about the death of someone who was once so caring, it almost seem like more of a sin than the abuse. “I-I-I don’t know.” The words seem to stumble onto themselves, but who can really blame her?

So greatly did he feel for this she-cat that the humble Ray decided quickly on his course of actions. "You have a kit?" A plan sprang to his mind, and he was determined. If he could at least save one life, he would be satisfied to some extent. He gave the yard a sweep-over glance before his eyes fixated on Kay permanently.

Kay shook her head as she gave Ray a testing look. “No, though I am currently holding maybe one or two,” she replied as her tail brushed against her swollen sides. Both eyes seem to shake slightly as the pupils narrowed. She was studying his features looking for some kind of clue on what he was getting at, though came up with a lost.
