There seemed to be a kind of unease resonating from her being. Shaking his head, the tom struggled to focus on his idea. "I was thinking that if you're worried about how Mai will treat them maybe I could take them in." He eyed her for a reaction. "You could still visit them, of course"--he added this part hastily so as not to make it seem like he was attempting to steal her young--"and you could tell Mai that...that a hawk had picked them up. It's just an idea, mind."

“Oh Ray,” mewed Kay as she looked at him with such a large amount of gratitude, ”Would you please take them? I mean, when they are old enough that is. You know how twolegs always take kits and sell them to other twolegs.” Ah yes, a grand lie was plotting between the two dark pelt house cats. Though would their scheme go successful or be an utter failure?

Ray--simple, noble, foolish, good-intentioned Ray. He would prove to them all that he wasn't as large a chauvinist as they would have liked to believe. Their eyes always followed him, accusing him, publically deprecating him. And for the following statement, he would prove his heroism: "Of course. We can't let that happen. How old do you think is old enough, exactly?"

“…Five weeks?” asked Kay as she tipped her head towards the side, thinking about his question. “Do you think that will be good? They are young enough so that Mai won’t…” Both eyes widen as a small wisp of wind wince through the air that brought in the scent of her abusive mate. Though strangely he waltz right into the background with what appeared to be a cheerful grin on his face, though that was always there. “Ah Kay!” he purred. “There you are.” The black she-cat lowered her ears a she gave an uneasy chuckle, but both pupils narrowed dangerously. She knew fair to well what he was plotting and would get an ear full of it once they were back with their two legs. “Hello Mai.” The queen replied with force behide her beared teeth.

His fur wanted to crawl off his skin, leaving him bare. This must be the elusive, abusive Mai. Eyes narrowing at the sight of the other tom, Ray forced his tone to remain cordial and his shoulders to remain relaxed. "You must be Mai. It is good to meet you at last," he simply mewed, careful not to say anything that might make Mai lash out at Kay.

Mai turned his gaze towards the tom that had just spoken to him with a bored expression. Lifting a brow, he blinked twice before ing his head towards the side. “Aren’t you Ray?” he asked with a rather blank look spread across his features. Poor Kay was about to melt for she knew what Mai was going to say. That twisted tongue of his always got him into trouble in the city. Part of the reason why Cerulean was a mute. Speaking of which, that young she-cat was bound to be here since he was here.

Nodding, he mrrow!ed in amusement. He had a feeling he knew what he was going to say. "Yes, you've probably heard some unsavory things about me. I can only imagine." Ray braced himself for sharp wit, which was certain to come. If he could read Mai at all, he had a feeling that he was about to tear him apart, both physically and mentally.

“Oh I have and most likely more than you can ever take in,” replied Mai with a small nod as a smile spread across his face,” Though it is always like that when someone talks behide your back.” Kay quickly got to her paws, though wince as her stomach was jerk a bit to roughly. The fine fur that was always neatly laying across her shoulders were standing on end of the eyes of her mate seem to pierce into her. “But then again…we all have to suffer. The way life goes.” What on earth was he doing? This was no like Mai at all. He was always calm and cheerful. Never so open with his darker side. Had the pride drown the tom’s sense at last? No…there had to be something more. Kay was sure of it.

"Yes, but it's the way we suffer that reflects how much pity we deserve. That's what everyone always prattles on about." Smoothing down a stray strand of fur that had begun to pull up, Ray's whiskers twitched. Even in a situation like this, he felt light-hearted, only half interested.

ooc: i suddenly have the urg to rp here!
bic: Sakura moved silently up the fence. Ray! She spotted Ray. Ray of all cats. Ah! Yey! Her fur tingeled on its ends as she decided to call out to him. "Ray?" She called to her friend. Maybe even more than a friend? No. He had his life and she had hers. they were just friends. Like neighbors should be. Right? Or could they be more? She doubted she could ever find feelings for anyone but Takuya. But he was never around. (*cough cough* tiger *cough cough*)

ooc: Ooh, this would be even more interesting if Kala was on to rp Mai and Kay, lawl.
K: Cursing under his breath at his misfortune to have to drag Sakura into the situation, he felt himself force his whiskers to twitch good-naturedly. "Hello there, my cherry blossom! What brings you here?" Tail twitching frantically in Mai's direction so as to give Sakura a tiny warning, he padded closer to the she-cat. Under his breath he whispered: "Sakura, sorry, but this really isn't a good time. Mai's a little agitated right now, and I don't know how he'll react."

Sakura smiled in a nice way. His cherry blossom? Wow! Barely moving her lips she asked Ray, "Whats he upset over? I may be able to help. If you're in a fight, she-cats are sometimes a good balancer." Her green eyes looked calmly over to Mai.
It was true. She-cats were sometimes a very good way to settle a fight between two toms. But sometimes they were also the cause of them. She was also very aware of this fact.

Ever the flirt, it was always difficult for him to keep his maw in line. Ludicrous lies seemed to find ways of creeping out from time to time, as well as sometimes-true compliments. Disclaimer: Is a massive suck-up/flirt. Don't take anything I say seriously. "He has control issues and he's abusive. I don't want you getting hurt when you're just an outsider finally coming into the set." As in-the-dark as she was, he didn't know how this irate, foul-tempered tom would react.

She blinked once or twice. "Oh, do you want me to leave then?" She asked him. Something told her that something NOTHING like what Ray had just told her was going on here, but then, she had to take his word for it. She had no clue what was going on here, and if Ray wanted Sakura to leave, by just gosh jolly, Sakura would hop right back over the fence and leave. She wanted to stay and help though. That was her nature. By nature she was one of the most helpful little cats ever birthed into a TwoLeg shelter. And then there was Ray. The charmer had always found a way to make her want to stick around some more.

Was she upset? She seemed wounded to him. Maybe he was just imagining it. Shrugging, he glanced over his shoulder at Mai and Kay, muscles tensing. "That would be helpful right now. I'll talk to you later." With a flick of his tail, he turned and left.
