Howlpaw was standing her ground as she looked around the area with slightly widen eyes with Rowanpaw right next to her. He seemed to be calm and collective as she was worried out of her mind. Swallowing some air with great force, she slowly began to stalk towards the side thinking that way was clear, but to her surprise it was not. Soon she was pinned to the ground by a blur of gray with golden brown eyes. No other than her mentor who was fighting her with claws sheathed. Even if there were no claws to be seen, it sure hurt like DeathClan. Howling with protest, the silver black striped apprentice rolled out from under the warrior only to be pulled back. “You left your back end open and you were far to slow.” Spat CrossMark as her eyes began to blaze with furry. Rowanpaw just watched with interest as he sat on top of his mentor, DúlinLight with her tail trapped tightly within his jaws. Every time the she-cat tried to move, the apperntice’s powerful jaws closed tighter on the tail allowing his teeth to sink slowly into the skin. “You could have cut open CrossMark’s stomach,” retorted the illtemper she-cat as she looked away from her apprentice. “It was wide open, but you failed to see that. Any other cat would have drove right into it.” Howlpaw felt her ears burn with shame as she coughed slightly shifting her weight from side to side. “I did that on purpose so YOU could see that.” Spat CrossMark, “What is wrong with you? This isn’t like you at all.” ‘I’ll tell you whats wrong. I just lost my mother and sister and my father is going mad and my brother has gone missing.’ Thought Howlpaw darkly. “Nothing,” she muttered. CrossMark did not believe her, but she was thankful her mentor was smart enough not to press the matter any further. “Whatever. We are going to fight now. You against Rowanpaw.” There was a small groan as Rowanpaw pushed off of DúlinLight’s stomach and onto the ground right next to Howlpaw. His amber color eyes were just gleaming with pride as he spat slightly towards the silver she-cat. “You won’t freeze like you did last time…will ya?” Oh how she hated that tom!

Blood dripped from the jaws of the black pelted she-cat, splattering onto the ground her paws trod on, and even sometimes on the dark fur covering her paws. Her visible golden eye twinkled as her jaws adjusted their grip on the bird dangling from her jaws. The feathers tickled her nose, constantly brushing it and making her wrinkle her nose to keep from sneezing. Burnclaw twitched her tail, pausing as sounds reached her ears. Now what would that be? Curiosity got the better of the dark she-cat.
She paused at the edge of the training grounds, ears perked and flicking. Ah! There was her sister! She set the bird down on the ground, keeping one paw on her kill. Burnclaw's pink tongue swiped over her jaws, trying to get rid of the staining red of the blood. Two apprentices were going at it. She sat down on her haunches, tail curling over her paws. She would watch for a bit, then go gather the rest of her prey.

RowanPaw gave out a loud snarl as he leapt towards Howlpaw, but gave a twist to the side as the silver she-cat sprang upwards as he knew she would do. This was far to easy. Smirking, he reached forward grabbing the fur that grew around her shoulder between his jaws and jerked her downwards almost slamming her to the ground. Howlpaw gasped as the air was knocked out of her lungs for a moment which causes things to spin. Though in this brief moment, she caught sight of worry in the orange eyes gleam down at her. This was she change to attack. Trusting her head forward, she bit into the middle of chest so he could not bit her nor kick her without causing his skin to rip. Chuckling, she jerked she head from side to side which caused him to fall to the ground with a 'thud' .
"Stop!" snarled CrossMark as she bounced between the two. "This is training! Not a full out fighting session. I don't care if you two hate each other or not. Both of you have BloodClan blodo running through your vains! Both of you go and get the elder fresh pray now!" Seeing the dismay and anger in the apprentices' eyes, she knew she had done a fine job. Curling her upper lip, she watched them both slip and fall on top of each other as they tried to make an exit to the forest. "Don't you think that was alittle harsh?" asked DulinLight as she turned her pericing golden eyes towards her clanmate. "Oh not at all. I will need everything I have to become clan leader..." Now this is where Dulinlight took her cue to ingore her friend and her grand illusions about her dream rank. 'It's always the same.' she thought darkly.

Burnclaw watched. It didn't last long at all. The she-cat, Howlpaw, had won. The shy warrior cat got to her paws, watching both apprentice and mentor bound off. She padded forward a bit more so she was visible to the two other cats, a small smile on her maw. "That was um....... a good move." Burnclaw felt her ears pull back as her shyness got the better of her. It was rarely around anyone else in her family that she talked to. The very tip of her tail twitched back and fourth as she glanced downwards then up at Dulinlight. Was this good? She glanced back at the black bird waiting to be eaten. "Kill?"
