ooc: If anyone's there/interested, I thought I'd [try] to start off SilverClan.
S: Revelling in the sun's rays as the tom-cat lay his head on the soft mound of Earth, he could only wonder what had caused the strange, atmospheric change in heat last Moonrise. Rolling to his other side, he pulled his lithe body up from the ground and craned his neck to find someone--anyone--within distance. To his dismay, he was alone.
As of recently, SilverClan had become a baron, vast wasteland where he could only find few of his many Clanmates. What had gone wrong?, he wondered. Poking his head inside of the warriors den, he found no one. With a sigh, a sense of bedazzlement and horror gripped at him. But, he realized with rapid clarity, there wasn't much that the young Scaldburn could do about the events besides continue to search. Wherever they were, he would find them.

( new cat alert! shimmerpaw. anyone want to mentor? )
S: Squirrel in jaw, the blue-ish cat padded closer to the camp. Cool night winds ruffled the fur of her short summer coat, bringing chill to the bones beneath. However, the she-cat did not hasten her pace as a small gust of wind tugged at her, just flattened her ears slightly and walked on. When she reached the camp she pushed through the entrance, eyes glassy.
(btw that's shatterglass, not shimmerpaw. and brb for about 4 mins.)

Gazing through and around the clearing, the tom-cat squealed at the familiar figure fast approaching. "Shatterglass!" he screeched, practically sprinting forward. Coming to a halt about three paw-steps from the she-cat, Scaldburn sheepishly sat himself down. "So...er...hi."

Shatterglass flinched back, startled, but then her expression turned to amusment at this overly-excited cat. She gave a muffled 'hi', then glanced to the thorn-tunnel around them, but saw no easy way past. She blinked at Scaldburn, wondering if he was going to let her through to the fresh-kill pile so she could drop her catch and actually talk.

He noticed where her gaze was directed. "Oh, of course! Sorry." Pulling away, he made room for her to pull through. Padding through to the clearing, he perched in front of the pile, waiting. This was the first contact he'd had with another cat in a long time.

Following the other cat to the small lump of food-stuffs, she dropped her own, albeit small, catch. Technically she hadn't been on a hunting patrol (technically she hadn't seen her own leader or deputy in quite some time!), and so she'd already eaten out in the forest. She turned to Scaldburn, still amused. "You act as though you haven't seen another cat in days!"

Pouting, he looked her directly in the eye, china-doll-blue eyes attempting to penetrate into her soul. "Well I haven't!" he whined. Scaldburn felt his stomach gurgling. Hoisting himself to his paws, he temporarily excused himself to fetch a starling in the center of the pile. Returning, he tore into it, savoring the flavor.
"Good bird," he mumbled, mouth full.

Shatterglass opened her mouth to say something, but then glanced from Scaldburn to the pile of food and back again, trying to figure this anomaly. She couldn't remember seeing many cats in camp, either... how, then, was there an almost-full pile of food in front of her, though she had brought only one piece in addition? She tentatively poked a thin rabbit near the bottom of the pile, but it was fresh; no rigor mortis had set in. She shrugged. Well, as long as there was enough to eat. "That's nice," she mewed distractedly. Already her interest was fading. Dragging her towarads boredom once more. "So, what you been up to lately?" she queried.

"Trying to find other cats. Trying to solve this great conundrum." Sighing, Scaldburn felt his anxieties coarsing through his veins again. Glancing left and right, a rush of wind swept through the clearing. Without realizing it, he had begun to hum a random tune that had instilled itself into his indigent mind.

Shatterglass shook her head. "We need more cats, new warriors. Just think, if some unknown force of cats were to attack our Clan, StarClan forbid, we would be in serious trouble. It seems that these days SilverClan is all but forgotten." she sighed.

"Have you seen that dome recently, outside of camp? It's got everyone worried, but we have to fear the most. What if there's something...inside there? Foreign intruders, invaders?" Scaldburn couldn't even make sense of his words after the first inquisition. Struggling to conceal his bewilderment/fear, he looked down at his paws. Since when had his pads gotten so torn up?

She gazed up and over the edge of camp, eyes barely catching the upper arch of the mentioned dome. "And they should be worried." she replied grimly. But there must be something thier Clan could do... "But even if there is an attack, we won't be defeated." she announced confidently. "I'm more concerned that without more warriors, our losses may be fierce." And she fell into silence, eyes shifting to look at the moon. But she was forced to look away a moment afterword. It was brighter than she'd expected.

Attempting to keep his voice steady, he already felt his eyes swelling. "I...I don't want to die. I don't want to get caught up in a Holocaust. I don't want anybody to get injured." Gazing skyward, he felt that if he focused long and hard, he might be able to gain contact with StarClan. Perhaps his parents whom he never knew might share some wisdom with him. "StarClan help us all."

Her eyes snapped to the young tom and then quickly away. What was one supposed to say to that? "I'm sure that we'll be all right.." she tried to comfort him. But in truth, when she dwelled too long on the horrible thoughs of what might become of the Clan, she was filled with a cold dread, which numbed the edges of thought and threatened to overewhelm, threatened to shatter her mind into a million pieces, leaving her incapable of action. So she hardly thought about it. When -if- the time came, she would fight. She would do her best to win.

His hum resumed. "If I could only force myself into that mind-set." Rocking on all haunches, he tried to calm himself. We must stay calm, we must stay calm, we must be strong, we must stay calm. Breathe in, breathe out.
In an instant, it all turned black.
In his dreams, he swore he saw an image of the dome opening--no, cracking--until four creatures appeared. Crab-like critters reared their ugly heads as his shrieks echoed. Blood gushed around him; all was a mess. It was his own private war, and oh, StarClan! how badly he was losing.
