Softenedoak stepped lightly, very in-tune with the earth. There were vibrations of everything, all the prey, every pawstep any cat took shook the earth, just the slightest bit. But he had to concentrate on something. Some..thing. It came from inside the earth, and rumbeled, like far off thunder. It was hard to track, but easy at the same time. Every time he felt one of those vibrations, it pulled at his heart, like a string in the right direction. His clan was there.
Symphoniapaw eyed Softenedoak. What was his whole deal? He was a lean cat, but almost no mucles. He obivously didn't fight, though his powers were large. Earth related? Very much so he had heard from other cats of the clan. Medicene Cat? Doubtful. Driftmoon was caring. This tom was shallow. He couldn't ever match her. Even if he did 'find the whole clan'. And UnicornDream beliving him? It made him want to spit in both of their faces.
Blister was off, to bring back food while they traveled. She hadn't found much, but could carry lots. Everything she came across she seemed to kill. They would be hungry right? Symphoniapaw could eat like no other at times, and now seemed to be a good time to feed before tehy wandered into someone eleses territory. With two mice, two shrews and a squirrell clamped in her jaws, she started off at a sprint towards teh strong sent of her only remaining clanmates. When she returned, they all stopped and dug in until their bellies were looling with fresh-kill.

In one quick swipe of his jagged claws--which he had allowed to grow until sharp enough and had kept buried under ground so that no guards would see--he sliced through the tom's gullet. A choked gurgling erupted from Daedrapulse as he began to convulse on the dirt floor, writhing, but not in agony--never in agony. He had gotten his wish, but Littlekit didn't feel better for a second. Shuddering, he pressed his back against the walls and waited for the almost epileptic-like movements became slower. "Show me. Show me how to get out. Show me!" he hissed dangerously close to the dying cat's ears. With a wail, Daedrapulse gave in. He began to untangle the wiry bramble frame until he fainted. Exasperated, Littlekit continued on his own.

Someone was tugging at teh earth, from the underside. Strong and steady it was. He could feel it as if it was right under his paws. But it wasn't. It was just a way farther. SoftenedOak burst into a sprint. A full-blown claws-digging-into-the-earth sprint. Plant growing had been his only expertize, but he had been told that he could shake the earth. If he could split the earth that would help, but he doubted a fissure would open on his command. The tugs on his heart stopped, but the ripples in the earth were strong enough to shake him off his paws. "Here, here, here, here," he whispered until he was yelling it to the ground.
His clanmates above ground looked worried, as if they were looking at a cat who was looksing his mind, but they all knew what was going to happen. If they could, they would help him in retriving any of thier commrads, missing in action. As impossible as it might have seemed, a crack apeared in the ground. Down below a pelt appeared, one that was familiar, Littlekit possibly.
Blister crouched on the very edge, though the gap did not expand. "Littlekit? She whispered into the ground below.

Scared out of his wits--which had, thankfully, managed not to have been totally disintegrated--he instinctively arched his spine, the start of his hunting and combat skills developing. With a menacing hiss, he squinted wearily and warily at the she-cat, jagged claws raised. Blinking, it took him several heartbeats to realize who had spoken. With a flick of his tail, he bowed his head in apology. "I'm sorry, Blister. Been here forever, it seems." Licking his dry lips, he couldn't help but pant like a Twoleg mutt. Despite his epic efforts, they had gotten to him.
Across from him, Slivermoon's eyes widened in horror. "Oh, StarClan," she murmured under her breath. It was a horrific scene to watch. The bloodied body collapsing and quivering and rolling and twitching... It made her sick, but it was a kind of fascination that encouraged her to keep looking. Littlekit's claws had gotten long, she noticed with a shudder. Hope he loses those soon as he gets out of here. He could seriously hurt another kit or...elder or warrior. She ran her tongue along her left forelimb, trying to clean her dull pelt; how she longed for a bite of sparrow or even starling--how she loathed starling, and yet, here she was wishing for it!

"No no no, it's fine! Do you think you can fit through this gap?" She asked him, very quickly, taking in lots of air. Her tail twitched in an uncontolable manner. She wanted to bounce around, excitment running through her paws. Symphoniapaw stood behind her, "Who else is down there with you?" He called to the kit.
SoftenedOak was shaking, his limbs quaking the ground had opened, but it was taking all of his strength. He wanted it to open, maybe another cat would see if the light became bright enough. He wanted it to crack, just another bit, with all of his will. He wished it with everything in his heart, and another huge gash ried the belly of the earth. Light silled into the underground cavern.

"Rosewhisper, you have to get us out," Icepaw told the she-cat. "What? I can't do it," she murmured back. Icepaw glared at her. "You're fine.," he growled. Rosewhisper took another look at him before closing her eyes and taking in death breaths. The air smelled stale and muggy. Crookedpaw's fear came off in waves and his mews echoed loudly around them. The warrior dug her claws into the ground and let herself float. She could feel the roots of a tree, but they were too far away. It was either that or try moving the ground from the rock. Her brow furrowed. At first, Rosewhipser didn't notice anything, but soon the wails of Crookedpaw told her that it was working. The ground began to tremble slowly and then suddenly, they were lurched to their paws. The warrior was flung against the cave wall and she looked up to their makeshift door. It had worked! The ground had made enough of a crack for Icepaw and her to get through. And she had done that? Icepaw scrambled for the hole and quickly slid through. Rosewhisper was right behind him. She ed her ears; she could hear cats coming from tunnels up ahead. "Hear that?" she asked Icepaw. "Yeah."

Shaking his head to clear his mind, Littlekit took a second to breathe before answering. "Yeah," he responded after what felt like another eternity. He did not know how long they had been trapped, but he did know that if they had waited another day they would have probably died. Or had to resort to eating each other--it dawned on him suddenly. That's what they wanted. The sick brutes wanted them to become cannibals; it would thin out the herd, so to speak. Oh, wait; Symphoniapaw had asked him something about the others... "Um...I can't be sure on specific numbers. I think it's safe to say everyone else is down here. I've managed to penetrate the bramble barrier here. I'll have to wait until the commandants are further distracted before I break out the others. Do you think we'll all be able to fit through?"

Icepaw hurtled forward - following the noises. Slowly, the mist began to thin out and Rosewhisper could hear Crookedpaw running for help. They had to get out of there fast. The two Legendclan cats pressed up against the wall as they ran through the tunnels. The place was a lot bigger than Rosewhisper had expected. Rosewhisper felt Icepaw's tail tip touch her shoulder gently. She stopped and peered around him. "Littlekit?"

Peering through the damp darkness, the kit's eyes still hadn't adjusted to his surroundings. Trying to trace the voice, he scanned the underground prison until his eyes settled upon Rosewhisper. He felt the urge to erupt with laughter; he was beginning to think that this she-cat was a bad omen. "Rosewhisper." His tail flicked in greeting.

Rosewhisper's brow creased worridely at the kit; he didn't seem to be himself. "Who's up there?" she asked. Littlekit stared at her with glistening eyes; they seemed hollow behind the surface. She glanced down at his thin body, he must have had less food than us, Rosewhisper thought. It wasn't like her and Icepaw had gotten a buffet either.

"Rosewhisper??" Blister called out into the darkness, "Please, it's Blister. There's also SoftenedOak, Unicorndream and Symphoniapaw here with me. I need someone to tell the others, anyone that you can reach, okay? Tell them they need to come home, before anyone notices!" She flicked her tail impatiently, the crackles in her paws echoing in the cavern below.
Unicorndream plunged her head down into the darkness. "Does anyone need my help? I can pull you guys up and out if you all want." Her wings cast an shadow, but it did not cut out the light that broke the darkness of the underground shelter.

"What they said," Littlekit managed to slur. His strength was failing him. Hungry. Thirsty. His body refused to produce saliva, and he felt his limbs beginning to shake. Everything mashed into one; the cats in front of him merged into gray, bland, lifeless forms. Nothing differentiated. Blindness struck; he couldn't see. Gasping for air, he threw up an ailing paw. Can't breathe, can't see...
Slivermoon couldn't wait any longer. Prodding her agitated daughter awake, she proceeded to throw herself at the barrier that stood before them. Blood gushed from the area of impact. Fighting the urge to howl in pain, she began to tear and gnaw at the wire. They had to get out to help the others and Littlekit's cell. One step at a time.

Unicorndream threw herself down to him. She grabbed him tight and hard by the gruff, making sure she had a good grip on him. What the... What was going on with him? Shock? No. It was something much more fatal. She pushed off the ground hard, hoisting them both into the air. She burst up towards the others. Casting a frantic look around, she set him down. He was... dying? "SOFTENEDOAK?!?!" She screamed, though there was no need, he was standing right there.
Symphoniapaw leaped down into the cavern. He wanted no part in SoftenedOak's 'save the day' procedure. His eyes adjusted. Shapes just barely cut through the darkness a few feet away. How had they lived like this? Music tinkered, a sad, pathetic song. Just as most other cats had felt before they came. A sent he knew. He folowed it. "Slivermoon?" He asked catiously into the blackness.

"Heuw!" came the determined response through a mouthful of wire. Her jaws felt as though they were on fire. The tenseness of the fine line that served as her maw caused her other senses to fall asleep. Still, as she gazed at the frantic escape artists around her, she realized that she had to push on in her efforts. Life is too short; her journey wasn't yet ready to come to an end. With the last ounce of rebellion left in her fangs, she pried the frayed ends from the bramble construction and cast the remains in a heap next to her. Shaking her daughter to wakefulness, she impatiently gestured to their means of freedom.

The wall moved, a lurching in the darkness. He peered around, seeing with his whiskers now instead of his eyes. "Slivermoon, Fayreign, you have to get out of here okay?" His music tinkered in the background, in a soothing way. He hoped the other cats would see it that way. "Come on. The others..." He cast a glance back up to the shaft of blazing light, "The others want to know your here."
SoftenedOak switched gears. This kit... he was dying. He licked the kit rapidly, seeing if that would arouse him. He needed water. The poor thing... He'd gone so long without it. Thoughts flashed through his mind. Where was it? He searched the earth, waiting for the earth to show him something. Down the way, there was a pool. More of a puddle. If he got there, maybe he would drink. "UnicornDream, I'm going now." He gently picked the kit up, taking him in his maw, and started to run. With each paw-step he pushed himself faster. Harder.
