Leaping from the dismantled cell, the two she-cats peered curiously at the brilliantly-colored tom. Their faces seemed lit up yet blank, as if asking "What now?" Their fur mangy and their ears slightly jagged, they attributed their restlessness to the effects of being starved nearly to death. Huffing and grunting, Slivermoon had a wild look to her eyes that sent shivers down her daughter's spine. Fayreign could only hope that they didn't happen upon one of the guards, especially Serpentwire. Shuddering, she hesitantly drew closer to the tom until she was almost touching noses with him. Her throat dry, she could not speak, so instead mouthed her gratitude.
~~~~~
Through the intricate tunnel maze, the council of EvilClan's more established and elite cats were discussing the fates of the LegendClan prisoners. "No, no, no! I keep telling you that we should just drown them! It'd make things so much easier! They'd squeal and whimper as they'd watch family members go down to the bottom!" a gray tom mewed, eyes alight as he pictured it.
Yawning, Serpentwire prepared to turn down yet another drone. "We've already been over this, Duststorm. These are not mice; these are cats. Even if they are poor swimmers, they are far larger than mice and have claws and paws that they can use to try to swim away or attack us. Why don't we just go with my plan and let them starve a couple more days--weed out the weak ones, so to speak--and then offer the remaining ones The Deal, one at a time?"
With a great many a murmur and a collective sigh from the assembly, the cats finally nodded their approval. Tail flicking, Serpentwire could honestly say that for the first time in moons she was happy, and when Serpentwire was happy, the worst of a situation wasn't too far off.
He nodded to her, and led his music away, through the darkness and to the shaft of light that he knew all the cats in any nearby cells could see. It returned immediatly to the air around him, when both mother and daughter were near enough.
Blister popped her head down. "Come on now, hurry up. Not much time left to waste."
Nostrils flaring, Serpentwire's pupils shrank to the size of two splintered, fragmented pebbles. Blood rushing to her ears, her lips turned up ever-so-slightly. In the dim light of the underground cave system, a shadow passed across the opening of that particular tunnel. Hissing, she motioned with a long claw to her throat--the sign for everyone to hush his/her voice. Pattering pawsteps sounded three lefts and two rights in another tunnel from them. Treason, treachery, attempted escape! Breathing shakily in and out, almost to the point of hyperventilation, Serpentwire grimaced. "Go after them." With a flick of her tail, she watched as the assortment of cats broke into dangerously fast strides and sprints.
~~~~~
Slivermoon's eyes darted furiously. "Where's Littlekit?" she whispered to no one cat in particular. It was eerily quiet. With a semi-stifled sigh, she watched as her daughter--without warning or prompting--sneakily scurried to work to free the other prisoners. She was surprised that nobody had ripped them to shreds yet; they weren't exactly the quietest of escapees.

Blister looked at SliverMoon, with a pitting look, mixed with the truth of unknowing. "I'm... I'm not sure. I think SoftenedOak took him, he looked pretty sick after all. There was a scene of commotion... And then he was gone..." She dashed glances around, seeing no one but escapees*, SymphoniaPaw and UnicornDream.
Symphoniapaw, looking for others to help, was casting about in the darkness. He found two or three other cats. The quite jingling music took them away, to the blinding shaft of light. But then he heard something, and smelled it too, that wasn't his clan members bustling about. It was a hot pursuit. Quickly he turned tail, his music became frantic, and he called out, in the slightest of voice, but it rang, "I think someones comming."
* yes, i took your word. im sorry. i didnt know what else to call them.

Visibly shaken, Slivermoon gasped and anxiously bore her claws into the Earth. Layers and layers of dirt walls began to come loose, a shower of grime. Blinking, Slivermoon gazed around, searching for possible solutions to their predicament. Craning her neck, her muscles tensed as she heard the distinctive sounds of pawsteps and Symphoniapaw's ominous observation. "Everyone be quiet," she hissed under her breath.

"Wake up," SoftenedOak hissed, "please, please LittleKit! Wake up!" From a leaf the white speakled tom poured water down the kits throat, and licked him harshly. No Starclan don't let this happen. Please, please don't let this happen. DriftMoon, you can't let your clan members die! He prayed to Starclan.
Symphoniapaw's music died away, leaving a dismall echo. When the sounds got too close, he turned tail and pushed the standing cats towards the split. "Go. Go, go!" He whispered to them. Blister and UnicornDream grabbed cats by the scruff and yanked them from the dark pit.

Eyes moist with yellow crust, Littlekit blinked into wakefulness. Yawning, he gazed up at his saviour. "Softenedoak? Are we still in the tunnels?" Before the other tom could answer, he carefully checked his surroundings and groaned. As he had suspected, they were in exactly the same area as they had been before he had passed out. Everything was bleak and roughly outlined, and it was as if he was slowly starting to go blind. Horrified, he wished he had something to eat to end the horrible delirious spell he was having.
Fayreign worked as best as her shaking limbs could allow her to and tried to free her fellow Clanmembers. Chewing through the thick chords that held the cells together and wincing as they poked and prodded her, she was able to scoop out each anxious cat one by one. It was a slow and grueling process, but after several minutes, she had managed to drag out at least a dozen cats. If only that was enough to save them all from Serpentwire's wrath.
Their captors were well on their trails and could have easily killed every single one of them, but, fortunately, the cats of LegendClan were able to use their intelligence and powers to halt their assailants' progress. Attempting to claw their way through the blocked off entrances, EvilClan soon grew desperate for any kind of contact with the other Clan, any rate of success. Scurrying to and fro, Slivermoon struggled to put up the reinforced bramble and gorse barriers at every hole or hollow.

"No we're in our clan territory though. No reason to fret." The spekeled tom shoved a pile of herbs nearer to the kit. "Shove these down your stomach or else you'll be wishing you had." He had grown them, when he realized that there were none around.

Eyes still adjusting to the lack of light, the kit simply nodded. Reaching down, he brought his mouth to the pile of herbs and began to chew, wincing at the bitter taste. After a few seconds, he was surprised to find that the taste had begun to numb his jaw and grow sweet like honey. Furrowing his brow, he gazed quizzically up at Softenedoak. "What are these?"
~~~~~
Ramming repeatedly into the barriers, the EvilClan cats hissed menacingly, cursing under their breaths. How ironic it was that these simpletons who had been captured so easily were using their own cells against them! Spitting, Duststorm drew out his thin but sharp claws and resumed his picking efforts from earlier. Eventually the barriers would have to break. To his delight, countless other toms and she-cats of his Clan followed his lead, and some even began to dig further down into the Earth to get into the other side of the barrier like gophers. The invasion had begun.
Softenedoak smiled fondly at the kit. "Something to make you better. Okay? Nothing more. Nothing less." He watched as the kit ate, and was proud. The poor thing... Colts-foot, feverfew, thyme and juniper berries, of corse at the bottom was moss dripping with water. All dipped in honey. He doubted it tasted any better that way though, seeing the first reaction from the kit.
Blister shoved her body past cats flinging themselves at the crevice in the ground. She barred her claws, putting herself between Evil clan and the others. Her clan would need her in this fight, Symphoniapaw too. She felt the familiar shifting of notes on his pelt, and knew he would fight beside her. Strong chords and loud trumpets pulverized the air, giving a good warning to the other clan. When they did not heed this warning.... Well everything went to hell.
Mumbling something undistinguishable under his breath, the puny kit's ears flattened to his skull as he heard Symphoniapaw's thunderous trumpets and the sounds of squealing, roaring cats lunging for each other's throats. The kit hadn't seen many battles, but he knew what they entailed, even at such a tender age. "We should get back to the others," he mewled, so quietly that even he had a hard time hearing it.
Auburnpaw of EvilClan tore forward in a panic, giving into peer pressure. He didn't want to kill anybody; he was just an apprentice, and, besides, he felt as though he was killing his own kind. Eyes stinging, he scrunched to the dirt floor and attempted to find a corner in which to hide so as not to cause too much of a commotion. Unfortunately, Duststorm caught sight of him.
Cuffing the poor tom on the ear three times, he hissed into his ear. "What do you think you're doing? You think you're one of them? You think they'd honestly accept you into their Clan? Those are vain hopes, my friend. It's time to end this fantasy world you've created for yourself; everything you think you know about this Clan is a lie." Spitting on Auburnpaw's front paws, he proceeded to drag the protesting apprentice back into the battlefield.
Blister and Symphoniapaw stood side by side, back to back, covering eachother. It was an easy fight for them, standing in the midst of a passing stampied. They slashed at EvilClan cats who rushed by, only to land a blow or two.
Unicorn dream stood infront of the wound in the eart, determined to fight back cats who wanted to get at her clan. She hissed and sctrached, making gashes down others' sides.
----
Away from the fight, SoftenedOak stood, with Littlekit at his side. The vibrations from the earth were strong, lots of action was going on under there. He was worried, but knew that fighting was not for him. Littlekit looked as if he was going to die if he didn't find flesh to put his claws in, but SoftenedOak did not want to be responsible for the death of the frail kit.
Slivermoon darted about, narrowly avoiding blows and dodging several errant attacks. Panting like a dog, she crawled into the hole that the EvilClan cats had dug and burrowed her way to where she thought she could smell Serpentwire. Eyebrows furrowing, a bead of sweat rolled down her neck and reached her tail tip. She felt as if she would faint, but she knew that she had to push on. Swallowing a forming lump in her throat, the air reeked with the villainous she-cat's stench; it was like a mixture of mousedung, dying roses, and overripe fruit. Wrinkling her nose, she tore into the right area at last where she was promptly confronted by an impatient Serpentwire. Not wanting to waste a single moment, she made a mad dash at the other she-cat, lunging with all of her might, only to be flipped onto her back by her stronger, younger assailant. Lifting her silvery paws that came off as a shadowy shimmer to her failing sight, she batted at the she-cat's face, hoping that it would peel and crinkle like paper. To her horror, it went nowhere, as Serpentwire had fully anticipated her movements and could coolly calculate everything that she would and did attempt. Without any good-byes or grand gestures of bravado, Serpentwire put her spade tongue and fangs to use, injecting her venom into the she-cat's bloodstream and thus paralyzing her, and, thus, this was how Slivermoon came to die.
Unicorndream stopped. Someone was missing. Casting around she was her clan mates, all in their own areas. She saw everyone. Everyone except....SliverMoon. She let out a retched hiss and shoved her way through the mass of writhing cats. She hurled herself over cats, under cats, and in between exchanging blows, all the while following the scent of Slivermoon. When it mixed with another cats', a cat from Evilclan, she stopped. The smell of death intermingled with them, and it wasn't the Evilclan cat.
Littlekit's eyes shot wide open. His sockets looked as if they were about to explode from his face. "Slivermoon!" he gasped. Although he had barely known the she-cat, he knew how valuable she had been to the Clan and would greatly miss her. Someone else can get her, but I hope they can stop Serpentwire in time. Shuddering, he closed his eyes to the world, as one so young will often do in an attempt to forget what cannot be forgotten.
Auburnpaw gulped and blindly struck at the nearest creature, which was Fayreign. Opening his eyes, he was frightened to see the she-cat mercilessly retaliate. Pleading, the tom dipped his head and sheathed his claws. Gazing up slowly, his eyes stung and watered. Fayreign eventually got the message and backed off. Making sure that no one was around, she leaned in close to the apprentice to conspire. Hope wasn't all lost.
