Green lamp-lit eyes went wide, not in terror, but in complete obviousness. "Where have you been?" Her black and white coat curled with her body, tail swinging around to touch Mint's paw. This would totaly freak her out, she could already see it. The wildness in her eyes would be almost comical. But hey, got to make a point right?
--
Sakura stood silently, not expecting Ray, or anyone else to notice. Her hair stood erect on its ends, and her eyes were wide. They were burned by the coppery stench of blood. It stung her nose, and as she looked upon the beautiful she-cat, she wept clearly.

"WhA' hAppened?" she croaked, stopping to cough and sputter. She glanced down instinctively and groaned. "Now I rrrememberrr." Heaving herself to her haunches, she stalked over to Ray, who took two steps backward. A wry expression leapt to her face. She never knew it possible to miss such an idiot.
Shaking, Ray set the kits down in front of him and swept them with his tail to his stomach. "Well, mind explaining?" Where had that matter-of-factness come from? Sighing, he braced himself for a long speech from the lithe young she-cat. There was a certain grace to her that he had never noticed when she had had hair. He was quick to admire her, he realized with a sudden start.
"HA'e crrrime. CAme Af'errr me and beA' me. They picked ou' All my furrr. Well, Almos' All. WhA' they didn' ge' I shedded ou' of sheerrr Anxie'y." Her words had a curious effect on him. He didn't respond angrily or sorrowfully. Then she realized; he had numbed himself to the world. It didn't matter if she told him that she was going to murder him in his sleep; he wouldn't care one lick.
"Hate crime? What for?"
"I'm A 'forrreignerrr'. They told me to go bAck to my own terrrri'orrry."

Mint choked on bile. She had the sudden urge to throw up. "Don't touch me," she whispered, her tone deadly. All of the voices inside of her began to swim and contradict each other. Just one! One! One of you show yourself and help me! However hard she searched it made no difference. She responded the only way she could; she bit Boo's left ear.

It made a puncture wound in her ear, and when she proceded to pull it from Min'ts jaws, it pulled apart. She realized it would heal in weeks from now, in a crumpeled fashion. She laughed, in such a mannor that it bubbeled up from her chest and seemed to growl through her cheeks. A frank large smile spread across Boo's face, and the gurrgling grew larger. She liked the feeling of blood rusing to the area to clot, and for a scab. The heat was intesnse. She liked it very much.
--
Wouldn't it be hard for her to do something like that? Wasn't her old home very, very far away? Sakura doubted that she could ever return to such a place, no matter how far she traveled. The kits seemed to huddle together, to keep the othside world off eachothers' backs. But they couldn't possibly know what it was like to have one tear claws - in a hypothetical speaking - down their backs. And as she watched Ray she wanted to hiss out loud, and tear him to peices. His eyes were observing this bloddu she-cat, like she was open for his entertainment. Sakura desperatly wished that she was his entertainment.

The tuxedo cat's whiskers twitched. "Thought you could poison me, didn't you? Well, no. Heh heh. No. NO! I've got the antidote; I've got the poison. I'VE GOT THE POISON!" She spat out a clover in Boo's face--the so-called poison. Tilting her head to the side, she gasped, suddenly coming to a realization. "You," she choked out, "you're one of them. You're im-immune. Im-muuune!" The word transformed into a pointless chanting song, filling the air with its chaotic disorder and off-key hostility.
~~~~~
"Go home? To Rush-ya? Or Scotts-land? Or...or Ang-land? You don't have one home; where are you supposed to 'go back to'?" Ray sneered at the stupidity of cats like that. Perhaps her original land wasn't what they meant, though. Perhaps they meant that she had better stay inside. How disgusting. His conscience leapt into action, causing anger to surge through his veins. Nobody should ever have to feel insecure and threatened outside of their own home.
She grimaced and rolled her eyes. "YeAh, homelAnd. OrrriginAl homelAnd or some'hink like thA'." She eyed Ray's kits warily. "'Ey, wherrred you ge' those?"
Sakura had to intervien. (If thats okay with you Seren) Ray wouldn't have to tell her where he got those kits, but SHE knew. Oh yes she did, didn't she? She came in sheekly. "I'm glad I found you Ray," she said as if she had paracticed it a million times, "I'm glad you kept them safe for me, if you don't mind, I'd like to have them back." Sakura didn't care if they looked nothing like her, they were his, and she loved him, so she would love them. Though she doubuted the mother of these kits would like the movement at all. She desperatly wished that Ray would understand and hand the kits over to her.
--
"Immune? HA! I'm INVINCIBLE!" Sh spat in Mint's face. It was a cruel twist, but she was, or it seemed to her. "Yes, immune would be a good word. Immune to everything the world coudl ever throw at me." She was overly proud, she had become more and more twisted ever time she came acrosst Sakura, or even her sent, and she liked it.
Shifting his weight anxiously to one side, he raised his tail in an awkward greeting. He eyed Freina's puzzled reaction uneasily before staring at the ground where Sakura sat, feeling too guilty to look her in the eyes. "Sakura. No offense, but this doesn't concern you. But...I guess...if you really want to take care of them... Look. I'll talk to you later about this, okay? I'll fill you in on everything then."
Whiskers twitching, Freina blinked thrice. Then, she did something that astounded Ray; she threw back her head and mrrrow!ed her amusement. "This is All too much! Why mus' you All be so drrrAma'ic Arrround herrre? I'd prrreferrr i' if you jus' told herrr now, RAy. Ge' i' overrr wi'h." Snorting, she watched his mortified expression transfer into confusion. She sighed. Toms.
Taking a deep breath, he flared his nostrils. "Okay. Fine. I will: These kits belong to Kay. Her mate is abusive so she asked me to take them away and care for them. In exchange, I made her promise that she would eventually leave him. I honestly doubt she will and feel like I'll have to come back to rescue her one day, but, that's a story for some other time. This is all just a clarification of things.
"Now that I've told you that, if you'd really like to care for these kits, you can help me go back for the others and get these two somewhere safe. You gonna keep them in your house? My only concern if you do is that your Twolegs will think they're stray and take them away."
~~~~~
Blinking, Mint stopped her chanting for a second to chatter several incoherent words that sounded quite a lot like cussing before returning to her altered mind state. "Trying to get at my Wolygag Spurt. Trying to...to...one-up me. G'ash Gaa'sploirt'gens tahm whouirthk. Tadmaa'hash!" She fell to the ground, unconscious.

Sakura shook her head harshly from side-to-side. Takyua.... "I'll tend to them at my new home, after all Takuya wouldn't mind...Though no one's ever there so I doubt they'll even notice." She sighed inwardly...If only he was here now to help her out. That would be the best thing. "Besdies they'll need a motherly-figure right?" She suddenly had the very strong urge to hiss at both of them and tell Ray that he should be saving her, after all, the bruises were still there. Why was he no helping her now as well? But she would help Ray, she could tell that he might need it, and after all, that's what she was. Everyone's replaceable sidekick.
--
Oops. What language was Mint speaking? Some delusional state of mind, that's where she was. Boo stooped over the other black and white pelted cat. She partly felt very sorry for this miserable being, but at the same time felt the urge to laugh harshly at her. She chuckled under her breath to compromise, and licked Mint on the cheek. She sat, and would wait for her to awaken.

Nodding appreciatively, Ray sheepishly turned his attentions back to Freina. The impatient she-cat was running her paw over her ear, not seeming fazed by anything at all. Being a victim must do that to you, he bitterly noted. "Thanks, Sakura. You'll be doing Kay and me a huge favor. You're saving their lives. I'll come by to check on them every now and then. If there's ever any possibility of them being in danger, alert me or leave them to Freina. You don't mind, do you, Freina?"
Startled to silence, she had to recollect herself. Kits were her greatest fear. It was not that she did not like kits; rather, she did not like caring for them and ensuring that they grow up to be mature and responsible and generally charming cats. The pressure was too much for her, and she wondered how anyone could handle it. Sighing, she realized that there wasn't anyone else around who would agree to such an arrangement. With much reluctance, she agreed. "Yes, RrrAy. Surrre."
~~~~~
Hours seemed to fly by before the dull green eyes opened. Rasping for breath, her mind was in a scramble. "Water," she croaked through dry throat. Rolling over on her side, she observed the spinning world around her. So much had changed over the past few moons. She didn't like it. Casting her spittle at Boo's paws, she rose and made her way over to the river due north.
Sakura smiled re-asuringly. "Can do. I'll probably move them right away if they're in danger." Her mind flashed to a cat that had once been a kit. Boo, only the gods above knew where she was. Would she care to help? Probably not, unless something came out of it that she oculd use. The thought of it made her sad, in a way she felt like she had failed her little kin. Though it hadbeen reviealed that it wasn't just Sakura's fault, it still fell onto her shoulders. she felt the smile on her face faulter slightly, and immediatly shoved it back on, before the strong mask crumbeled off.
Boo rasied an eyebrow. And intersting thing Mint had done. Her paws rested just before a large darkened wet spot of... bile? A wicked smile crossed her face. Yes, that was bile. An evil thought etnered her mind, one that she dare not share with any living cat. The bile looked much like a face that she thought she had once seen in the forest just outside her sister-dearests' cozy warm home. Darkened and glazed was the expression of that cat, the same as this bile. Suddenly, all thoughts of using Mint dissapered. She would bargen with the cats of the clans, and wreak havoic on her sister and her whished lover.
Eying Freina uneasily, he gingerly drew himself to his paws. Casting one hopeful glance back at the shaved she, he turned on his heel and headed for his own house. Things had grown increasingly tense over the past few months. Sighing, he crept forward, trying his best not to make a sound, until he made it to the sliding glass door that entered his home. With a gasp, all of the wind was knocked out of him, for there before him was a noticeably grungy albeit very much familiar feisty orange she-cat.
Tammy took a step forward and tilted her head back to mrrow! her amusement. "Surprised?"
Boo passed by that house, the one where she heard the giggling 'murrows' of another she-cat. How pitiful they all were, under Sakura's pittiful spell. That made everyone just that much worse. But of corse, Ray would have to suffer more than anyone, just to break her dear sister's heart.
Shock overwhelmed his being; his muscles tensed and his eyes nearly bulged from their sockets. Something was just too wrong, too good to be true about this. Dreaming... Even his thought process was at a deadly slow. This couldn't be Tammy. Couldn't be...
"Are you on 'shrooms or something? You look so hollow and brittle, like I could break you!" She mrrow!ed once more. After the few awkward moments of silence that ensued, she shifted her weight from one paw to another, uncomfortable. "Stop staring at me like I'm a ghost! You're creeping me out!" Sticking her tongue out at him, she waited to see what he would do.
Shoulders bunched and raised, he struggled to come to terms with it. His ex-mate, rose from the dead like a zombie. "You're not real." His voice was a droning monotone. He couldn't bear to associate emotion with the impostor that stood before him. "I buried the real one. There was no breath left in her lungs. You're not her."
Tilting her head to the side, the she-cat winked at him. "Well of course not! I know she died a while ago! I'm her daughter, Iecerin. Apparently she gave birth shortly before her death."
ooc: lawl, I thought it was clichely funny; it's always, "I'm your father", etc., so thanks. :3
bic: His world shattered, he attempted to de-fragmentize the scenes that played out before him. Flashbacks to the past flooded his senses--his mate's ever-present upturned maw, her sarcastically sweet voice ringing in his ears; Freina glaring at him from inside Tammy's house. Had he ever even touched her so intimately? He thought not, and he felt shame winding its way up and down his body. "I can't be your father. I never--ehm--was intimate with her."
Eyebrow raised in disbelief, Iecerin examined him thoroughly, checking to see if he was lying. Her behavior was so unbelievably similar to that of her mother that Ray felt a small tug at his heart. As she began to speak, he found that he couldn't listen to her. There was no doubt in his mind now as to her true identity.
"Have you been listening to me at all?"
Her impatient tone drove him from his isolated thoughts. "Sorry," he mumbled, ears flattening. He wasn't enjoying it one bit. "How do you know that I'm your father?"
Rolling her eyes, she started over, realizing that he was too caught up in the shock of witnessing what he had presumed was the second coming of his mate to pay attention. With much reluctance, she decided to begin. "She told me that she met you way back when. You were on catnip pretty heavily at the time, so you had no recollection of meeting or...lying down with her." Clearing her throat, she felt suddenly uncomfortable about the topic at-hand, the opposite of her mother's fiery and outgoing attitude toward such awkward discussions. "She remembered you, though. And she never forgot you. She secretly followed you for many winters, autumns, springs, and summers before making her appearance as your neighbor. You did meet her briefly several times before that. The last time was on a very dark night about--well--maybe two moons before she officially met you."
