Dust was just falling over the twoleg village when a shadowed figured dashed across the road, bearly missing a roaring monster that screamed loudly trying not to hit whatever cross in a blind panic. Zipping into a near by berry bush, the figure sat down with a huff before dropping three small kits to the ground. Their eyes were large with fright as their young minds tried to figure out what was going on. Their mother was sure acting strange, that much was clear. Kay, after catching her breath, glanced down at her kits looking at the puzzled expressions. Wincing, she pulled her tongue over all three of the small heads. They were only four moons old and she was forcing them to leave her side. Swallowing hard, she nodded her head before poking her head out of the bush glancing around. 'Wonder where he is...' she thought painfuly. Ray, a tom she was never sure how to think of, gave his word she would take her kits to escape the warth of their father.
ooc// Two of the three kits are open. Tell me if you want one. I own one of the them.

ooc: I don't have much to do with this plot....if it won't hurt anything, I'll take one of the kits!

ooc: I guess I could take the other kit. I'll probably kind of forget about it, though. (I have a tendency to only focus on warriors and older.)
bic: Ray turned on his heel, casting his spittle on the sullen Earth. Whiskers twitching, he thought he heard it crackle as it met the air. It was very cold, he had to admit, but didn't saliva only react in harsher mountain climates? Shaking his head, he padded across the sidewalk, chest heaving.
Therapy sucks, he thought with a sudden venom directed toward Larus. In his mind it was all the pale tom's fault; he was the one who had suggested it. Sighing, Ray's breath became fog before his eyes. Blinking twice, his mouth felt dry all of the sudden. Shifting his attentions back to Larus, he concluded that the emotionally-sensitive cat just thrived in drama.

ooc: Larus = Another one of my cats who is Marek's (another cat of mine) potential love. Sakura confessed that she loved Ray after he asked her, and he told her that he couldn't return the love in the sense that she wanted. Boo had an outburst because Sakura gets all the attention and was about ready to kill her, which made everything a lot tenser. Larus decided to play therapist in an attempt to stop them from doing anything drastic. Boo didn't stay the whole thing through, and here they are now. Yeah. ;3

ooc//Ah, m'kays. I was wondering and was just a bit puzzled there. xD But wow o.o Sadly I could see Boo bursting out to rip off Sakura's head. I really did. lol anywhos!
Both of you can have a kit ^^ I don't think the link to the kittypet page is working Oo So I'll have to check that. oh I need to update the websites wtih the new layouts as well hehehe I have tons to do o.o
bic//Kay was now starting to become frightful that the tom had forgotten all about their plan with the kits. Frowning, she curled her body tighter around the three kits licking them to keep them warm. She could only say out for at least another hour before she had to head back to her twolegs. Yes, her kits were four moons old, but their thin pelts were not made for this harsh cold weather. Sighing heavily, she pressed both ears against her skull before resting her head on her paws. Both icy blue eyes searching wildly outside of the bush for any signs of Ray.

ooc: I'd rather not have a kit, but I don't care too much. Just because I forget about kits until they're warrior-age. I dunno. !_!
bic: He was a tom of his word...only problem was he couldn't remember for the life of him what words had been promised. So preoccupied with his own petty problems was he that Ray did not even remember his vow to Kay. Not until he was safely tucked into the comfort of his Twoleg nest did he recall. Ears perking, the fur on the back of his neck stood on end all of the sudden, as if to remind him somehow. It dawned on him at last. Steady legs already working to get him over to the she-cat's yard, he almost ran smack into the glass door. Meowing as obnoxiously as he could to signal his Twolegs, he was eventually released into the wild...or at least, the neighborhood.
Sniffing the air, his nose was beginning to fail him. No sense of smell. He could've kicked himself for not developing this skill as a kitten. With a shrug, he squinted into the distance, hoping to catch a glimpse of some familiar feature. It had been so long since he had visited the queen; did his paws still know the way? Apparently they did, as they swiftly guided him now after the previous second's confusion. Funny how the mind works.
Once he had located her backland area, he came to a halt. Peering over the pence on which he perched, he concentrated on the solid ground to make a solid landing. Leaping down, the dull-gray tom nodded in greeting to Kay, attempting to look casual. Purring nervously, he hopped over, feigning good humor. "Thought I'd forgotten, huh? Not so easily. These are your kits? They're beautiful. D'you want me to 'em back with me now or wait?" The last was a stupid question, he realized, but he figured it was more polite to ask rather than just barging in and picking up each one by the scruff without explanation.

ooc//thats cool. I'll just find someone else then. ^^ If you change your mind, just let me know
bic//Kay narrowed her eyes as she watched Ray as his words fell from his jaws. She wanted to rip off his nose, but thought it best not to act so harsh. Maybe it was because she figured Mir would come around the corner at any time to see her giving away their kits to Ray. Then he could assume they were not his and oh the nightmares she was giving herself from one simple thought. Shaking her head, she gave a soft smile before poking her head out of the bush looking at the tom with her strange icy blue eyes.
"For a moment I did to be truthful," she said giving an uneasy laugher,"Though you are here and that is all that really matters." Then she thought about his question and quickly looked down at her kits who all settled down curled against her warm stomach. Feeling both eyes burn, she started to doubt her plan, then she caught sight of a scar she had from that horrible tom. She could not let that happen to her beautiful kits...no matter the heart break that currently happening within her chest.
"Please," she begged,"Take them and protect them for me." Both eyes were now teary as she looked at Ray, her gaze having a distance gleam to them. Her features were full of sorrow, yet love and bravery shown through. "I don't think I can vist them often...but I will try. I will return this favor for you soon Ray. I really will. Just name it." Now the queen's voice was starting to shake as her emotions were building up.

Eyes squinting once more, he was quick to pick up on her initial hostility. Slightly flinching, he told himself that she was just antsy because she wanted him to hurry up and get it over with. Plus, if they were caught, if they were found out about... Shaking his head, Ray forced himself not to think about it. "I know that this is difficult, Kay. They're yours, after all. It really is for the better, though. I just want you to know that." Eyes darting around the yard, he searched for a hidden enemy.
Focusing on her last words, he perched on his haunches. Gazing directly into her own icy eyes, he took a deep breath. Favor? There was only one thing that he wanted her to do for him--for herself. The air was still and quiet after the tumbling of his broken, pointless words. He was such a stupid hero with much to demand. Still, he had to try. "Kay," he began, ears perked, "I want you--as soon as you feel well enough or...unwell enough--to run away from him. To come and find me. Or someone else that can help you. You can't keep living like this." Blinking, he hoped that she wouldn't smite him for what he had just confided.

Kay paused and just stood there looking off into the distance before nodding her head towards Ray's request, though she had no idea how she would ever get away between her humans well as Mir. Sighing deeply, both icy eyes looked over towards the tom she was about to give her first litter too. She had trusted him enough to place her kits with him so she had to return the favor with his small request. It was a simple task. Yes, smiple indeed. "I will get away," she replied,"Though not now. Only when he is calm which will not be long. If there is any trouble I will be sure to get word out to you. In the mean time, coudl you please inform Boo and Sakura that I am quite alright and what is going on?" The young queen stood there in the snow trying to act and sound as brave as her mind was telling her to be, but within her heart was screaming out wanting to cling onto the three helpless fuz balls, but she knew better. She knew she had to be brave no matter what her emotions were telling her to do. "You have my word alright Ray?" she added in a smooth tone.

Eying her warily as if she might show any sudden doubt or signs of disloyalty, Ray swallowed the lump forming in his throat. With a sigh, he went over his task in his mind once more. Tell Boo and Sakura that Kay is fine and the kits are coming with me. Tail twitching restlessly, he glanced down at the wriggling kittens. A fatherly warmth tugged at the strings of his heart. He was deeply moved. Shaking his fur out, he perched himself before her, facing her head-on. "Alright. I will. Good-bye, and good luck, Kay." Nodding, he stooped down to pick up *two of the squirming masses. His journey would be long and perilous, he knew, as he half-expected Kay's vindictive mate to leap out of the bushes at any moment; as of that moment, all was silent.
*how many kits are there, btw?

ooc: what exactly is going on?
bic: Sakura had watched Ray for some time now, and his actions had grown stranger and stranger. She was extreamly worried now, even Takuya could not ease her mind. It was impossible to tell when she was going to let Ray go, but apparent that woudl not be for some time. Her pelt had grown dingy, she did not keep it clean. Sometimes Boo wondered if she had mites, or maybe....what the twolegs called it, Mange? She ate rarely, and even rarer did she drink. She came to a point where once she could swear that she dested Kay for all she had done, because Sakura knew Ray was with her... Though she couldn't blame anyone, no matter how hard she tried, it always came back to herself.
Boo became less and less worried about Sakura. She may have wondered what was wrong, only to hope it was something bad. Mint - where was her strange partner in crime anyways? - had seemed odd at first, but once around her enough, easy to handle. Like knowing how to walk on hot sand without purning her paws. Learning was the hard part. Kowing was the best.

ooc: Ray is going to raise Kay's kits (or at least take them away until Kay decides to leave her abusive mate).
bic: Hiss. Serpents--everywhere. Nowhere to run; nowhere to hide. Shifting paradigms of familiar shadows settled comfortably and coolly into her mind. She had been around for quite some time and had suffered through the voices' relentless chatter and bickering all her years, but it still proved too much. She loathed them telling her what to do, loathed their power struggle. Dominance. Her eyes narrowed into slits. They know too much. They can hear me.
Mint had been out of town for a while, scheming and plotting. She had sipped from the sacred river of the *Aeotes Forest, shared an Eweug egg with a Yellow-Spotted Befhimian; she had even extracted the rare but lethal nectar of the Fenwoly Plant indigenous to the forest. How she intended to use it...
~~~~~~~
The young kits squealed and squawked and protested, making a general nuisance of themselves. They're making a huge racket! Someone's going to catch you! Inwardly shaking his head--he couldn't do it literally for fear of dropping or brain-damaging the kits--Ray scurried up the fence and made his way for Tammy's house. Did Freina still live there? Once he reached her backyard, he came to an abrupt halt. He smelt burnt meat. Slowly backing up, his back ran into the fence. He let out a frightened mew and nearly dropped the kits.
Freina lay bald in a puddle of blood.
*All of these are figments of her deluded mind.
It was Mint. She was back. Boo tracked the scent harder than she had ever tracked anything. (Which wasn't much anyways.) Around corners she peeled, ears back, tail low. "Mint...Mint?" She hissed. The pavement scratched at her paws, and by the time she was nose to nose with mint, she was leaving a faint trail of blood behind her with each step. "MINT!"
The call of kits woke her suddenly. They weren't anywhere close, so their loud mews were faint to her ears. Their annoying mews made her fur tingle. She had to see them, see what was wrong with them. Soon the sound mixed with several smells. The sent of the kits, new, but still cat. And Ray. Her eyes went wide, pupils dialated. She went headlong into a sprint, before she lost the sent. She would find him. And what she found with him...was something horrible.
"Who...who did this to you?" he found himself murmuring, gasping for breath. The kits he grasped clung tightly to him for dear life; they burrowed their noses into their stomachs and began to whimper. Shushing them to silence, he breathed in and out, trying to connect it all. Hate crime? Possibly. With a sigh, he crept over to the body and gingerly reached out a silky-gray paw to gently prod. To his relief, she stirred and rolled over. She looked so pitiful without her lovely white coat.
~~~~~
Not quite as startled as she should have been, Mint furiously gazed up into the eyes of her new oppressor. Another tormentor on the scene for her. It was always for her. Why couldn't they leave her alone to herself? "What do you want?" It was probably the calmest question she had ever asked in her entire life.
